Biography

Mr. Richard L. Wright attended public schools in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is a 1959 graduate of Howard High School. Upon graduation from Howard High, he began the pursuit of higher education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Building Construction with a Minor in Business Administration in1963. Upon graduation from Tennessee State University, Mr. Wright began his career with the Delco Moraine Division of General Motors Corporation. During his early tenure with General Motors, he continued his educational pursuits in Business Administration at Wright State University, General Motors Institute, and the University of Michigan.

Mr. Wright’s experience in Manufacturing and Manufacturing Operations spanned thirty years with General Motors Corporation. His management experience included the areas of Quality Control and Assurance, Materials Management, After Market product management and Manufacturing. Mr. Wright retired from General Motors with thirty years of corporate service in 1993. Upon retirement Mr. Wright refocused his career and began working with Non-Profit Corporations and Small Minority business development. He served as the Executive Director for the Montgomery County Community Action Agency, provided Management services for Wright Technology Network and St. Mary Development Corporation. In 2020, he retired as the Executive Director for Parity, Inc.
