According to the concluding report of the Carnegie Council on Adolescent Development..
"The years from ten through fourteen are a crucial turning point in life's trajectory. This period, therefore, represents an optimal time for interventions to foster effective education, prevent destructive behavior, and promote enduring health practices."
Parity, Inc. connects well-rounded, skilled mentors with at-risk middle school students with goals of aiding in high school matriculation, increasing the graduation rate, grid reducing dropout rates and increasing their overall social, emotional and academic capacity.
Our mentors connect with their men-tees four times a month, with at least two of the interactions being face to face. All of the interactions are recorded weekly for accountability purposes.
Mentors provide guidance, support and occasionally, treat their men tees to special outings to create trust, and keep men-tees engaged.
At it's core, our strategic mentoring program guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.
